What is the Parent Teacher Club?
Who We Are:
We are a group of parent volunteers that help to organize a series of fundraising activities in order to provide help, assistance, entertainment, and classroom materials to the students of District 50. We want to work with parents and teachers to strengthen your child’s school experience. The board is made up of President - Melissa Perhay, Vice-President - Joe Clark II, Secretary - Jessica Sale, and Treasurer - Audrey Nielsen. We all have students attending Beverly Manor, and John L. Hensey Elementary here in District 50.
What We Do:
Our main focus is to enhance the experience and education your child receives at District 50. We provide various forms of entertainment for the children and families, support and appreciation for our teachers and administration and all they do for our children. We also work to provide classroom supplies or materials requested by teachers. We host popcorn days, popping popcorn and distributing to students at both schools, one week at Manor, and one at Hensey each month of the school year. We organize an annual fall fundraiser, which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This provides the majority of the funds for our various activities throughout the year. We have also began hosting a Witches Walk, along with the annual Breakfast with Santa, Daddy Daughter Dance, Spring Carnival, and Arts Day; that provide a lot of fun, entertainment and community spirit for all of our families.
What this Means for YOU
We are only successful because of all the help and support we receive from our amazing volunteers. These volunteers are parents, grandparents, and other people who live in the district 50 community. We appreciate all the volunteers for all of our events, support from the local community, time and effort from everyone. We need volunteers for all events we host, from Witches Walk, Breakfast with Santa, Daddy Daughter Dance, Spring Carnival, Arts Day, and popcorn days. Also, we appreciate the feedback and support of parents at ALL Parent Teacher Club meetings. Our activities are greatly supported by the fall fundraiser, support and donations from local businesses, and most important all the time so unselfishly given from our parents and volunteers.
